Newport News Public Schools registration open

Newport News Public Schools is currently accepting registrations for magnet school programs for 2013-2014 school year.

Registration deadline is Jan. 18.

According to the school, "Magnet programs offer a specialized focus in the curriculum or a distinctive type of environment or instruction, and serve students from across the city. Magnet programs give students the opportunity to focus in such areas as environmental science; marine science; communication and performing arts; aviation; international studies; and math, science, technology and engineering."

Newport News Public Schools is at 12465 Warwick Blvd., Newport News.
